Southeast Wildfire Potential Forecast for 2008
With the Pacific Ocean currently in a strong La Niña, all of Florida, South Georgia, and South Alabama are expected to see a decrease in rainfall (up to 30-50% less than normal) and warmer temperatures for the remainder of the winter and early spring seasons. The lack of winter rainfall has already impacted parts of the Southeast, resulting in drought and wildfires across the regions.
