The Florida Climate Center is a public service unit of the Institute of Science and Public Affairs at the Florida State University. Home of the State Climatologist, David Zierden, and the State Climatolgist Emeritus and noted El Niño expert, James J. O'Brien, the Florida Climate Center provides climate data and information for the state of Florida.

	2008 Hurricane Season Hurricane Season runs from June 1st until November 30th. Reference the link for answers to questions about preparing for the hurricane season, current storms, or official forecasts from NOAA.

	SECC 2008 Summer Outlook Little to no rain during mid-April to early May causes Southeast to dry out.

	Southeast Wildfire Potential Forecast for 2008 With the Pacific Ocean currently in a strong La Niña, all of Florida, South Georgia, and South Alabama are expected to see a decrease in rainfall (up to 30-50% less than normal) and warmer temperatures for the remainder of the winter and early spring seasons. The lack of winter rainfall has already impacted parts of the Southeast, resulting in drought and wildfires across the regions.

	CoCoRaHS Has Come To Florida The Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network, better known as CoCoRaHS, has expanded into Florida and is looking for citizen volunteer weather observers here in the Sunshine State.
