Elsevier Science Journals Database
The Elsevier Science Journals Database is the electronic full-text version of
approximately 650 of Elsevier's traditional research journals. These journals are
primarily in the scientific, technical and medical disciplines.

1.) Select the access link above
2.) Select the search mode. Either: Basic, Advanced, Command or Journal List.
Note that selecting the 'Journal List' mode will allow you to retrieve
journals either alphabetically or by subject area. (See subject
areas in image below.)

Acrobat Reader Needed
Acrobat Reader is required to download and view the full text articles.
When you are viewing an abstract, select the 'electronic copy' link (circled in red below) that
is located near the bottom of the page. This will download the full text article.

Use LUIS commands to search Elsevier Science Journals Database
Use the same commands you would use in LUIS to search the
Elsevier Science Journals Database. Simply select from the menu bar the 'command' option.
(Circled below in red.)
The window below is what selecting the 'command' option will produce.
Enter any command in the window that you would enter in LUIS.
A few examples:
K=(el nino or enso)
...this search will retrieve all records that contain el nino or enso.
This search produced over 150 records.
BK=ocean
...this is the browse keyword search. BK will produce an alphabetical list
starting with the keyword entered. Next to each keyword is the number of records
the keyword appears in for Elsevier Journals Online.
Who can access the Elsevier Science Journals Database?
Access to this database is limited to the faculty staff and students of the subscribing
institutions; Florida International University, Florida State University, the University
of Central Florida, the University of Florida and the University of South Florida. Users
outside the Internet domains of these institutions will be asked to enter their 14-digit
library patron identification number to obtain access.
