    Here is an example limiting your search to a selected database:

    This search will look for the keywords provided in only the 
    
Agriculture, Biology, Environmental Sciences ABES database.
    

  •  Current Contents supports 3 boolean operations; and, or and not.
    
 
		
    Here is an example of a search utilizing boolean operators

    
	(type)k=indian monsoon and africa not china (press return)

    
		
    This will execute a search for titles that have both 'indian' and 'monsoon' and 'africa' in them, but not 'china'.

    It is not necessary to place an 'and' operator between 'indian' and 'monsoon' because 'and' is the default operator.  You may limit your search to finding only records that have 'indian' next to 'monsoon' by inserting a proximity operator.

    



  • Here is an example of a search using a proximity operator
    


    (type) k=indian adj monsoon (press return)

    

	
    The 'adj' is short for adjacent.  This search will require that the word 'indian' be in the record directly next to the word 'monsoon'.

Now type only the term(s) you wish to search, do NOT type w=ocean model
Simply type ocean model in the space provided.

The search result will allow you to make one of three choices:

#2)    DISPLAY to see the current list, or

#3)    QUIT for a new search and then press  return
