Mark A. Bourassa Personal Page

Mark enjoys a wide range of activities including hiking, sports, and science fiction. To help try to keep in shape he helps coach judo in the Leon County Judo Club.

Like most people with web pages I display pictures that I find interesting or admusing. For example, while performing an experiment on a navigational tower in Delaware Bay's Roosevelt Inlet, we had to share the tower with a family of osprey. The mother, whose family was on the upper level, is shown hovering over the tower. The ospreys came to accept us working below, but none of us were foolish enough to go up and get closer look. Compare the wing span to the 5'10 postdoc standing on the lower platform.

I used to wish people would think before passing on warnings about computer viruses. Then I realized that computers are getting so friendly that no knowledge of how they work is required. A quick read of the US Dept of Energy's Computer Incident Advisory Capability (CIAC) could be informative.
