The student symposium is open to any students in the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Science, as well as any other graduate students working on related research. The Student Symposium provides graduate students with an opportunity to present their research or research plans. Students wishing to help with organization and/or setup should contact Austin Todd or Erin Easton

Format
The Symposium will feature both a series of Oral presentations and a Poster Session. Oral presentations will follow standard AGU Format, with a 12 minute presentation followed by 3 minutes for questions. Posters must be constrained to dimensions of 36"x48".

Registration
Graduate students wishing to register should email Austin Todd with (1) Title and abstract, (2) times unavailable to present (i.e. class times), and (3) preferred presentation format by October 22 at 5 pm. Please email preferred presentation type ASAP, so the event may be better planned. You will receive email confirmation upon receipt of your registration. If the number of people registered exceeds the number of time slots or space, a committee will be formed to reduce the number of presentations. We should have space for approximately 38 talks and 45 posters.

Awards
The best two student posters and the best two student talks will be given a cash award. First place awards will be $50 and second place awards are $25. Each participant will receive a commemorative item.
