Thompson , a University of Washington School of Oceanography and University of Hawaii (HOTS) sponsored ship, provided bridge and automated weather (AWS) observations. The bridge observations were taken every four hours and the AWS were taken every minute. The IMET automated weather system was located on the bow of the vessel and the variables included are:
