COAPS is almost entirely supported by grants and collaborative partnerships motivated to advance the field of ocean-atmospheric prediction studies.

The model in this global display was integrated by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory - NRL with data analysis provided by Dr. Xiaobio Xu (pictured above) at a 1/25° horizontal resolution is based on the HYbrid Coordinate
Ocean Model (HYCOM).

Partner Relationships 

COAPS has a number of ongoing partnerships with private industry, government agencies, and other research or academic institutions. We partner with some on collaborative research projects, while others make direct contributions of time, resources and money that enhance the educational experience of our students through internships, fellowships, and job opportunities.
