Note: There is little temperature variation across Florida during the summer. However, during the winter, a temperature gradient builds, with the northern part of the state being a few degrees cooler than the southern part. The above stations are able to provide a good, though not exact, approximation of temperature and precipitation for the Everglades. Data are available from additional stations, with shorter time periods, around the Everglades.

Upper air data are also available from Tampa, Miami, and Key West. Key West (station number 72201) has been active since 1954; Tampa (station number 72210) has been active since 1975; Miami (station number 72202) has been active since 1948.
